Randall Rothenberg Talks on UGC Online Video Standardization
Today in New York, the Interactive Advertising Bureau, the IAB, the consortium of online publishers, will address the complex issues surrounding advertising and user generated content in an industry event for members and the pubic. Beet won't be able to attend and we understand the event is sold out. But surely, there will be some developments from the day-long meeting. I've posted here my second, unpublished interview with Randy Rothenberg, who heads the IAB.

    • The best way to advertise the event would be word of mouth. Another way you can advertise would be through social media websites.

    • There are so many ways! You could create an event on Facebook or LinkedIn. You could also reach out to traditional media, if it's a big enough event, or a good charity event. Many times radio and TV stations, or local newspapers, are always looking to visit events so they can promote their sponsors. Always contact promotions people to see if they are interested. If you’re looking to promote online, another site you could use is eventsnearhere.com. You can post free ads there, and each ad gets a QR code that you could print out on flyers etc.

    • Corporate events should be fun and laid back. Get some good music that everyone will enjoy and hire some catering to supply food. Holiday parties are also popular, so maybe think about hosting a Christmas gift exchange as that is usually popular.
