Questions related to: Wedding Announcements

I have seen many brides include a wedding web site on their wedding announcement. I do not have that much time on my hands. Is a wedding web site really necessary?

    • No, a wedding website isn't at all necessary. I have been to many beautiful weddings where the couples saw fit to send out a "save the date" invitation and information on where to go and what to bring, but I have never been to a wedding that was announced via website. Weddings are tough enough to plan without the added complexity and expense of building a website. Keep the invites simple and focus on other, more important aspects of the wedding.

I am interested in making my own wedding invitations at home, but my soon to be husband wants to look around first for wedding invitations. Where can I find cheap, but quality wedding invitations?

    • The best way to find a low cost invitation would be to ask around to see where other people got their invitations and use networking skills to their advantage. If someone wants to cut costs completely, there are ways to make them from home.

  • We are having a Japanese-style wedding. The crane is a symbol of long life ad health. How do you make origami cranes that are wedding invitations?

    • One way to make an origami crane into a wedding invitation is to write the invitation on the paper in which you plan to use for the crane and then fold the paper into a traditional crane. The problem with this is that your guests may not know to open the crane. A better way to use origami cranes in your invitations is to attach small cranes onto the invitations themselves.

I want to get the cheapest wedding invitations. Would getting them online be cost effective?

    • This really depends on what internet website you are using. You may be able to find some great deals but always take into consideration shipping costs. You can also find great deals in your community through research so don't completely rule that out as an option as you decide what is best for you and your wedding.

I am trying to have a low cost budget wedding and need to save money any which way possible. It is okay to send wedding invitations by email or will it seem tacky?
