• Advice About Design & Lighting
    Article Topic:  Design & Lighting

It is very important that you have excellent design & lighting when you are setting up an event. These two things are linked intrinsically together because they both make it so that the other can work. Neither one can exist at its best on its own. You need to consider them at the same time so that you can set the event up in a way that is functional and aesthetically pleasing. These are very important to the way that an event works and the way that people see it, the way that they feel about it. The following are a number of things to consider when you are looking into design & lighting.

To begin with, make sure that the design does not ruin the lighting. You want to lay things out so that the lights are not blocked. This can do two things that are bad for any event. First, it can make it so that the lighting is poor and it is hard for people to see. Secondly, it can actually make the event more dangerous. People might not see things like low steps; they could trip and fall painfully. You want to set up extra lighting around exit doors, staircases, balconies, and any other places where there is a bit of potential danger. You can work these lights into your design so that they still look good even as they play a role in the safety of the venue.

Next, think about the use of cameras by guests at the event. A bad design or poor lighting -- or a mix of the two -- can create long shadows that will look bad in photographs. Since most events are photographed extensively by people who are there, you need to make sure that the lighting is laid out in a way that is conducive to the use of cameras. You want the lighting to be present so that everything is not dark; at the same time, you do not want to overdo it or you will wash out all of the pictures. A good balance is what is really needed.

Finally, just try to incorporate the design and the lighting as much as possible. You do not want the lights to stand out. If possible, you want people to not even notice the lights. They need to notice the illumination itself, but they should not see light poles and other such devices.
